Bio
Dr. Sara Mandell began her education at MIT (Management and Chemistry). She earned
a BA, MA (Latin), and PhD (Classics) at NYU. She served on the faculty of Emory University
and USF.
Mandell engaged in mathematical competition as a member of her HS Mathematics Team.
She is the recipient of awards and honors, including honorable mention in the Westinghouse
Science Talent Search (now the Intel Search) for research in Chemistry: NYU Founders
Day Award; state of Florida Lute and TIP awards; USF Distinguished Service award;
ßÙßÇÂþ» Student Judiciary Committee award; elected President of the SouthEastern Region
of ASOR (1993—1994).
She has published numerous journal articles, books chapters, and book reviews, and
is co-author of two books. And, she served on the editorial board of ßÙßÇÂþ» Studies in
the History of Judaism and was Editor of its sub-series, The Hebrew Scriptures and
their World.
