  • Ricketts-Jones will co-lead a Global Irish Studies initiative as part of the Humanities Institute’s Faculty Fellowship Program, also featured in the newsletter on page 6.

Andrea Rinard

  • My micro-memoir, "A Thing of Air," written in Dr. Sellers's micro-forms class in the fall of 2023, was accepted by Brevity Magazine and is slated for publication in their May edition.
  • Rinard’s essay for the MFA practicum was one of the Top 10 articles of 2023 in Teachers & Writers.

Michael Shuman

  • Shuman provided interview commentary on film director Jack Arnold’s work in “A Three-Dimensional Filmmaker,” a special feature on the Film Masters Blu-ray release of Arnold’s The Swiss Conspiracy (1976), starring David Janssen, Elke Sommer, and Senta Berger, scheduled for release on February 20, 2024.

Anca Garcia

  • Garcia finished and defended her dissertation and graduated in August 2023.
  • Garcia has started an Assistant Professor position at a small college in Virginia.
  • In addition, Garcia has been accepted to three conferences this year. The College English Association Conference (Atlanta) in March, The International Congress on Medieval Studies (Kalamazoo, MI), and The International Medieval Congress (Leeds, UK) in July.

Stephanie Lance
